Director of Residential ServicesUnited Hospice, Inc. is currently seeking Director of Residential Services to join our team at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence:
Salary for this position is $100,000-125,000k annually and is commensurate with education and applicable experience and certifications. All full-time/benefits eligible positions offer a generous benefits package including health insurance, 401k with profit sharing, generous paid time off and other additional perks.Responsibilities will include, though not be limited to:- Directs and manages financial performance including, monitoring expenses, development of operating and capital budget, optimizing revenue and all other fiscally related issues.
- Ensures compliance with state, federal, Joint Commission and local standards and regulations.
- Provides continuous 24-hour oversight of clinical practice in the residence and creates an environment which supports the interdisciplinary model of care delivery.
- Ensures that policies and procedures are developed, implemented, monitored and evaluated in order
to promote efficiency and effectiveness of the care delivered, supports professional standards of
practice that is consistent with the code of ethics and standards of conduct. - Promotes a high standard of quality care consistent with the agency's mission and goals; evaluates
the quality of care delivered by staff and implements appropriate action for improvements as
needed. - Supports and facilitates effective resident and family collaboration and communication in order to
achieve resident specific outcomes. - Directs and coordinates the activities of professional, non-professional and administrative staff
in order to maximize the resident's, family/caregiver's quality of care and quality of life. - Reviews staffing and scheduling and ensures adequate staff coverage to meet resident needs
including work schedule flexibility - Facilitates communication and works effectively with all staff, residents/families/caregivers,
physicians, vendors and other agency staff and professionals. - Serves as a liaison with all other agency staff in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assures compliance with licensing and Medicare certification requirements and standards.
- Provides direction for all quality management, utilization and risk management activities to ensure
the provision of quality care in the facility. - Ensures that the facility's physical environment and atmosphere is clean, attractive and home-like
for residents, visitors and staff; ensures that the health, welfare and safety of all occupants is
maintained. - Participates in community education and public relations activities.
Promotes the facility and establishes positive relationships with potential referral sources - Accepts other responsibilities as assigned
- Incorporates the organization's commitment to customer service and continuous quality improvement
into daily work habits of self and staff. This includes:
Qualifications: - Registered Nurse
- Masters Degree from an accredited college or university (Nurse Practitioner preferred)
- Minimum of three years supervisory experience
- Possesses symptom management expertise in end of life care
- A minimum of 5 years full time experience in health care administration with residential care experience
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Excellent computer skills
- Good listening skills
- Must posses a thorough knowledge of the State and Federal regulations, as well as JCAHO standards that pertain to the provision of hospice care
- Demonstrated track record of effective leadership skills
- Ability to relate to a diverse population and workforce in a personable and effective manner
