Black River Health is seeking an experienced Director of Quality & Risk Management to lead our quality, patient safety, regulatory, and performance improvement programs. This role will drive systemwide improvement and oversee value-based care deliverables that support the organization's strategic goals and commitment to exceptional patient care.
The ideal candidate will have strong hospital-based Quality leadership experience and a demonstrated ability to lead organizational improvement, advance patient safety, and drive measurable outcomes.
PLEASE NOTEWe are specifically seeking a candidate who has MANAGED OR LED A HOSPITAL QUALITY DEPARTMENT. Quality experience gained solely through another department or clinical role does
not meet the minimum qualification for this position.
What You'll Do- Drive QAPI strategy and lead organization-wide performance improvement initiatives
- Oversee risk management and patient safety programs
- Lead value-based care initiatives, ACO-related activities, and organizational deliverables
- Monitor and support quality outcomes, performance metrics, and strategic goals
- Maintain accreditation readiness and regulatory compliance
- Develop and deliver quality, patient safety, and regulatory education for staff and providers
- Lead key committees focused on quality, safety, and regulatory excellence
- Collaborate across departments to identify opportunities for improved outcomes, performance, and patient care
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and accountability
Required Qualifications- 3+ YEARS OF DIRECT HOSPITAL QUALITY DEPARTMENTLEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE WITH VALUE-BASED CARE AND ACOs
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field
- Strong project management, analytical, leadership, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications- 5+ years of hospital Quality Department leadership/management experience
- CPHQ, CMQ, CPHRM, or other relevant professional certification
- Demonstrated experience leading organization-wide quality and performance improvement initiatives
- Experience with regulatory compliance, accreditation, patient safety, and risk management
