Role Summary
At GEICO, we’re transforming how customers engage with us across digital channels — web, mobile app and beyond. GEICO is seeking an accomplished, customer-obsessed, and visionary Director, Product Management – Service Digital Experiences to lead a portfolio of products/experiences that drive meaningful customer, associate, and business outcomes. This leader will define long-term product strategy, guide multiple product managers/delivery teams, and partner closely with engineering, design, analytics / data science, operations, and executive leadership to deliver innovative, scalable solutions.
The Director will be responsible for shaping the future product vision, establishing outcome-driven product practices, and building a high-performing team of product managers. This individual will blend strategic thinking, customer empathy, operational excellence, and data-driven decision making to accelerate GEICO's digital transformation.
Job Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
Define and own the multi-year product strategy and investment roadmap for a significant product portfolio.
Develop compelling product visions that align customer needs, business objectives, and technology strategy.
Identify emerging industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market opportunities to influence enterprise priorities.
Drive product portfolio decisions based on customer insights, business impact, and return on investment.
Champion customer-centric innovation and foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning.
Business & Portfolio Leadership
Own portfolio-level business outcomes, including customer adoption, engagement, growth, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
Establish outcome-based goals and measurement frameworks across product teams.
Lead prioritization and investment decisions across multiple product areas and initiatives.
Balance short-term delivery commitments with long-term strategic objectives.
Serve as an executive point of accountability for product results and performance.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Data, Design, Operations, and business leaders to align product investments and execution.
Influence executives and senior stakeholders to build alignment around strategic priorities and product direction.
Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives that span multiple teams, organizations, and customer journeys.
Facilitate decision-making across competing priorities, constraints, and stakeholder interests.
Organizational Leadership
Build, lead, and develop a team of Product Managers (at varying levels)
Establish product management best practices, operating models, and standards across the organization.
Coach product managers on strategy, discovery, prioritization, execution, and stakeholder management.
Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Partner with leadership to attract, retain, and develop top product talent.
Product Delivery & Execution
Ensure teams maintain a healthy balance of customer value, technical modernization, risk reduction, and operational excellence.
Guide teams in leveraging data, experimentation, and market feedback to refine product investments.
Partner with technical leadership to evaluate architectural tradeoffs and platform strategies.
Promote agile principles while improving organizational delivery effectiveness and predictability.
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of product management experience, preferably in technology-driven organizations.
8+ years leading products throughout the complete product lifecycle from strategy through execution.
5+ years of people leadership experience managing managers, senior product managers, or product leaders.
Proven experience defining and executing product strategies for complex product portfolios.
Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead across large matrixed organizations.
Experience owning measurable business outcomes and product investment decisions.
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
Experience leading cross-functional teams that include engineering, design, analytics, and operations.
Preferred Qualifications
12+ years of product management experience.
Experience leading digital transformation initiatives or large-scale platform modernization efforts.
Experience leveraging AI tools in the Product function and in delivering AI solutions
Demonstrated success managing multi-product portfolios with significant business impact.
Strong understanding of customer experience design, experimentation, and product analytics.
Experience building and scaling product organizations and operating models.
Insurance, financial services, fintech, or highly regulated industry experience preferred.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Agile and product management certifications preferred (SAFe, Scrum Alliance, Scrum.org, ICAgile, PMI-ACP, Pragmatic Institute, Product School, or equivalent).
Exceptional executive communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
Success Metrics for the Role
Portfolio-wide improvements in self-service uptake, digital adoption, and reduction in contacts across service channels
Sustained increases in engagement and NPS/CSAT across digital channels, tied to business outcomes (retention, cost-to-serve)
Reduced time-to-market across the portfolio’s release cadence
Elevated product organization maturity across teams (data-driven decision-making, experimentation proficiency, agile excellence)
Seamless, consistent omni-channel journeys with reduced drop-off across touchpoints and devices
Effective organizational leadership: growth and retention of product talent, leadership bench strength, and achievement of portfolio-level OKRs
Annual Salary
$153,750.00 - $256,250.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
