• Build relationships with business, trade, and retail press to secure coverage of company milestones, funding, expansion, and leadership commentary.
• Act as a strategic communications partner to founder and executive leadership, including message development, media training, and speaking opportunity identification.
• Manage corporate narrative and reputation, including proactive positioning and reactive/crisis communications as needed.
Crisis Management
• Direct reputation management efforts, authoring official holding statements and providing strategic counsel to executive leadership during complex or sensitive situations across social media and the wider media landscape.
Team & Function Leadership
• With the Marketing Director, accelerate the PR function, including agency selection and management, budget ownership, big wins and any future team hires.
• Define PR KPIs and reporting frameworks, tracking earned media value, coverage quality, and share of voice against competitors.
• Partner closely with the Marketing Director and cross-functional teams (social, brand, product, and creative) to ensure a unified brand narrative.
You'll need to have:
• 10+ years of Global PR and communications experience, with a mix of agency and in-house experience strongly preferred.
• A proven track record of securing both consumer press (fashion, lifestyle, fitness) and business/trade press coverage.
• Established senior relationships with US media across consumer and business/trade press.
• Experience supporting or partnering with a high-profile founder or executive on personal brand and media strategy.
• Prior experience in apparel, activewear, beauty, or DTC/lifestyle brands is highly valued.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
• Strong writing, storytelling, and executive communication skills.
• Experience managing budgets, agencies, and developing and nurturing a team.
