Director of Physician Practices - Pee Dee Surgical Group

Florence, SC, United States (On-site)

Position Responsibilities:
  • Greets patients and visitors in a friendly and courteous manner always facing forward with attention on the patient/visitor.
  • Answers telephone within three rings using good customer service skills to ascertain the nature of the call as needed.
  • Uses proper telephone etiquette when receiving and transferring calls; speaks clearly and concisely. Exercises tact and diplomacy.
  • Maintains confidentiality in talking with patients, upholding policies, and setting an example.
  • PTO Approval for Providers/Staff
  • Assists with Customer complaints.
  • Reviews financials with providers and AVP monthly.
  • Reviews daily, monthly, quarterly insurance/billing reports
  • Leads all Teams/Offices in Service Excellence, meeting Operational Budget Goals, and Daily Huddles.
  • Handles the following Human Resources tasks:
    • Work closely with CA II with any HR issues with staff.
    • Hire staff.
    • Terminate staff with AVP.
    • PEP process (Steps 1,2 w/o AVP Steps 3,4,5 with AVP or Service Line Director)
  • Oversee training for New Employees
  • Supports Providers with CME, Onboarding, White Coats, Boards, Greenlight, Meetings, and licensing.
  • Create a Call Schedule with locum company and process payments.
  • Creates Call Schedule for providers.
  • Reviews, optimizes, and monitors all processes in office.
  • Round on employees/waiting room as indicated by Service Excellence
  • Report any defects/anomalies to AVP immediately.
  • Monitor CLIA, Shred, Hazardous waste usage, equipment, license.
  • Set appropriate goals and discuss with AVP.
  • Notes of appreciation to be done weekly.
  • Expectations are each Practice Administrator to be a leader in McLeod organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated healthcare practice management or administrative experience.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to use common office and healthcare-related systems.
  • Ability to understand and apply medical terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail with effective spelling, numerical, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, prioritize competing responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field.
  • Previous experience managing physician practices, surgical practices, or ambulatory healthcare operations.
  • Experience with physician financial reporting, revenue-cycle processes, staffing, performance management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
