Description

We're currently seeking a passionate and skilled Director of Operations to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to our customers worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for planning and directing line management and related manufacturing support activities including manufacturing floor inspection, manufacturing engineering, materials management and safety/environmental engineering. Establishes and implements manufacturing policies, controls and procedures to further the company's interest in efficiently producing quality products. Contributes to achievement of sales objectives and to the establishment. Prepares or assists in the annual budgets for all departments and is responsible for profit and loss of the division. Manages Manufacturing Managers of Molding and Stamping, Purchasing, Warehouse, Manufacturing Engineering, Customer Service/Planning.

Responsibilities
  • Management of manufacturing operations. Plans, schedules, organizes, and staffs manufacturing and manufacturing support functions. Assures that all groups within manufacturing organization are properly staffed and coordinated; and that personnel in each group are properly qualified, directed and trained to perform their duties effectively.
  • Interprets company sales forecasts and shop orders and establishes accurate manufacturing plans to assure that our customers' requirements are met, that is, defect free product on time.
  • Coordinates with Engineering, Sales and new product development engineering to maintain an awareness of current and future product plans.
  • Develops and manages material control, manufacturing control, production scheduling, and planning systems to assure achievement of output schedules which will meet company sales requirements.
  • Maintains material and parts inventories which are adequate to ensure the fulfillment of production schedules with minimum inventory expense.
  • Plans and develops manufacturing facilities and equipment for efficient production of products.
  • Works with tooling/engineering to investigate product quality and manufacturing problems and determine the most cost-efficient solutions.
  • Develops and assists with the annual budget of all departments; develops and is responsible for all standard costs. Recommends pricing based on the profit objective of the company. Is responsible for the profit and loss of the division.
  • Meets or exceeds all TQM measurements as agreed upon annually.
  • Is a member of the executive team and steering team which are responsible for the development of company policies and plans.
  • Participates with other top managers in the development of company business policies as needed.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 8-10 years precision manufacturing experience including some experience in molding. (10 years in management role).
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Should have a working knowledge of computerized manufacturing systems.

This position is at our East Hanover, NJ location.

Pay Range: $150,000 - $180,000
