Description

1. Operational Execution & Site Delivery
  • Lead execution of assigned contracts, customer sites, and field operations in alignment with requirements and standards
  • Ensure daily operational activities are completed on schedule and to standard
  • Monitor site conditions, staffing coverage, and operational issues requiring action
  • Drive consistency in execution across assigned programs and locations

2. Workforce Coordination & Readiness
  • Coordinate workforce deployment against mission and contract requirements
  • Ensure assigned personnel meet clearance, training, and qualification requirements before work begins
  • Identify coverage gaps, readiness issues, and staffing risks early
  • Coordinate with recruiting, training, and operational leadership to resolve personnel constraints

3. Performance Management & Quality Oversight
  • Track operational performance against assigned KPIs, service levels, and execution standards
  • Conduct routine reviews of site performance, reporting, and corrective action status
  • Address execution deficiencies and elevate unresolved issues promptly
  • Support implementation of QA inspections and performance improvement measures

4. Compliance, Security & Risk Support
  • Ensure assigned programs and sites operate in compliance with security, access, clearance, and customer-specific requirements
  • Support audit readiness, documentation accuracy, and inspection preparation
  • Execute incident response and issue escalation procedures as required
  • Identify operational risks and coordinate mitigation actions with leadership

5. Operational Coordination & Communication
  • Coordinate daily execution across program teams, project leads, and site supervisors
  • Maintain clear communication with the Vice President, Operations regarding performance, risks, and resource needs
  • Support customer communications at the operational level and resolve routine issues
  • Ensure alignment with support functions and adjacent operational leaders

6. Continuous Improvement
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that strengthen efficiency, service quality, and execution consistency
  • Capture lessons learned and feedback from assigned sites and teams
  • Support adoption of tools, reporting methods, and standardized operating practices

Requirements

The Director of Operations is responsible for the day-to-day execution, coordination, and performance oversight of assigned operational programs, customer sites, and field teams for CenCore Associates. This role ensures that program activities are carried out in alignment with contract requirements, operational standards, workforce readiness expectations, and compliance mandates, directly supporting the Vice President, Operations in delivering reliable, standardized, and high-quality operational performance.

The Director of Operations translates operational direction from the Vice President, Operations into field-level execution, ensuring consistency, responsiveness, and accountability across assigned contracts and sites.

The position reports to the Vice President, Operations, CenCore Associates.

Required Experience
• 10+ years of progressive operations, program, or site management experience, preferably in government contracting, security, construction support, or other mission-critical service environments
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-site or geographically dispersed operations, field teams, and customer-facing execution activities
• Experience leading supervisors, program leads, project leads, or similar operational personnel with accountability for performance, readiness, and execution quality
• Working knowledge of contract execution, staffing coordination, operational reporting, and performance management in a structured service delivery environment
• Experience supporting compliance with security, clearance, access control, training, or customer-specific operational requirements
• Proven ability to identify operational risks, resolve issues, and escalate critical matters in a timely and disciplined manner
• Strong experience coordinating across operations, training, compliance, contracts, and leadership stakeholders to maintain workforce readiness and service delivery
• Experience implementing SOPs, process improvements, corrective actions, and standard operating practices across assigned programs or sites

Education & Certifications
• Bachelor of Arts degree required at a minimum; a degree in business, management, operations, project management, or a related field is preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
• Additional relevant training or certifications in operations, compliance, security, or program management are desirable
