Full Job Description
The Director of Operations will oversee all aspects of retail operations within Idaho. As a key member of Operational Leadership, you'll drive the team to success, ensuring we fuel our growth, maintain & exceed our brand standards, and pump up our potential at every location. You'll lead the charge in ensuring we reach new heights while keeping everything well-oiled and revving up results across the region!

What You'll Do
  • Turns "every district for itself" into "teamwork makes the dream work" by maintaining consistency and executing goals.
  • Keep controllable costs on a tight leash.
  • Partner with other members of Stinker's Leadership team to deliver results on Stinker's sales and profitability goals, leaving our competition down wind.
  • Analyze key metrics and sales numbers to make dollars and scents out of trends and opportunities to help stores improve not only their numbers, but customer satisfaction.
  • Champion the execution of initiatives within your operational districts. Lead the charge on the Stinker way by navigating the den dynamics with each department and function.
  • Communicate effectively across all functions and at all levels to provide clear, timely cascade of information. Feel free to add a dash of humor with a dose of skunk pun.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills by executing good judgement in ambiguous situations, solving operational escalations, and reacting appropriately under pressure. We don't expect you to have every answer, but we do expect you to know where to go to get them.

What You'll Need
  • Solution focused thinking. You get 5 minutes to complain and then we kick tail!
  • Demonstrate a guest-first mindset by regularly evaluating locations for opportunities to improve cleanliness, convenience, service, and overall guest satisfaction, ensuring Stinker remains a Bright Spot in every guest experience.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail. As with most things today, this role wears a lot of hats and there are a lot of moving pieces and skunks headed in multiple directions!
  • A passion for sightseeing, as there will be some travel between multiple Stinker locations- If you love sitting at a desk, this is not going to be your cup of tea.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across the district and with various corporate departments, whether you're rallying the troops during a store visit or sending an email that (hopefully) gets read.
  • Act as an agent for change; being flexible and patient, open to suggestions, and a keen eye for opportunities to improve processes.

Requirements
  • 4-year degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years multi-unit retail experience, convenience store experience preferred.
  • Previous fuel experience preferred.
  • Must be fluent in cost control.
  • Must consent to and pass a background check, because how else are we supposed to know if you're actually three skunks in a trench coat or not??
  • Have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance, as well as a passion for sightseeing (there will be some travel involved).
  • Previous experience in food service operations is highly preferred.
  • We don't expect you to be a tech guru (we have a whole department for that!), but you'll need to be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer operation.
  • Must be comfortable working in a dog friendly office environment (that's right, we're dog friendly!)
