Director of Nutrition & DiningAs the Director of Nutrition and Dining you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the Nutrition & Dining team throughout all Cayuga Health entities including food preparation, patient meal service, retail food operations, catering, and nutritional education and counseling.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Ensure successful and fiscally responsible operations all department operations, i.e. patient meal service, all retail operations, catering and nutritional services.
- Be able to navigate and lead in different healthcare environments, including Acute Care, Skilled Nursing, Rehab, etc.
- Manage all operations' KPI's and address areas for improvement.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through all available data sources; i.e. Press Ganey, customer comments, direct patient feedback
- Ensure adherence to all local, state and federal safety and sanitation codes
- Approve all operating, labor and capital budgets on an annual basis, and ensure all entities are successfully operating within margin.
- Effectively communicate throughout system in support of hospital operations and patient satisfaction.
- Manage all department suppliers and contracts to ensure the highest level of service, quality and value. Collaborate with regional and national GPO's to ensure maximization of contract utilization.
- Serve as department representative for cross-functional teams throughout Centralus Health.
- Support system functions, both internal and community-based, through supplies, donations and catering.
- Support Centralus' growth opportunities with successful design and implementation of nutrition services at new or acquired entities.
- Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities, not noted above.
Required Skills and Experience:- Education - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nutrition or Food Service, or a 2 year related degree with 5 years of experience.
- Experience - Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience in an acute care setting.
- Licensure - None. RD or CDM preferred.
- Servsafe or equivalent food safety certification required, or able to be obtained within the first 90 days. Certification must remain throughout tenure.
Location and Travel Requirements:- Location: Onsite - Throughout the Cayuga Health System dining sites to include Schuyler Hospital, Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, Cayuga Medical Center, Cayuga Addition and Recovery Services (CARS) & Crisis Prevention Center
- Shift: Days, with flexibility for special events held on campus and community off campus events
- Travel: 25% local travel may be expected in this role to locations listed above when needed
Pay Range Disclosure:- Salary range of $90,000 - $125,000 annually
Physical Requirements:- Standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, pushing, pulling and reaching. May be exposed to areas of extreme heat or cold. Primary work location may include loud noises, wet and slippery conditions, exposure to sharp objects. A licensed ability to drive may be necessary.
