Job DescriptionThe DON is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, clinical compliance, staff performance, and day-to-day clinical operations. This position works closely with the Administrator and provides leadership to nursing and clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate all clinical patient care services.
- Oversee Start of Care, Recertification, Resumption of Care, Discharge, and skilled nursing visits.
- Review OASIS documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, Florida AHCA, OASIS, and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain survey readiness and support corrective action plans when needed.
- Lead the branch Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Oversee clinical staffing, scheduling, productivity, and on-call coverage.
- Recruit, train, supervise, evaluate, and develop clinical staff.
- Review clinical documentation and patient charts for quality and compliance.
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, referral sources, patients, and families.
- Assist the Administrator with branch operations and organizational goals.
RequirementsCurrent and active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license required.BSN preferred; associate degree considered with equivalent experience.A minimum of 2-4 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 1 year of supervisory or management experience in home health care or a related healthcare field.2+ years of Director of Nursing experience strongly preferred.Medicare-certified home health experience required.Must be highly proficient with OASIS documentation and requirements.KanTime experience preferred.Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations and Florida AHCA requirements.Experience with QAPI, compliance, and survey readiness preferred.Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.BenefitsCompensation & Benefits- Competitive salary: $83,000-$94,000, depending on experience
