JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Nursing (RN), will serve as the clinical leader of our skilled nursing facility, overseeing the delivery of comprehensive nursing care to our residents. This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising all aspects of nursing practice, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a culture of excellence and patient safety. The Director of Nursing (RN) role is instrumental in fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment where nursing staff are empowered to provide high-quality, person-centered care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the nursing department, fostering a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous education
  • Oversee the training and development of nursing staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and competency to meet resident needs
  • Follow and implement Sapphire policies, procedures, and clinical protocols to ensure the highest standards of resident care and satisfaction
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized care plans for residents
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing care outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing quality improvement initiatives as needed
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations governing nursing practice
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and clinical expertise to enhance professional growth and development
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, care conferences, and quality assurance activities to promote resident-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
  • Utilize standard precaution knowledge and infection control measures where required
  • Knowledge of and ability to conform to the applicable law, rules, and regulations
  • Guide staffing procedures
  • Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures
  • Other Duties as Assigned


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
  • Proven leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting, with a track record of effectively leading and managing nursing teams
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive care plans based on resident needs
  • Thorough understanding of nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement principles
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered care and advocating for the needs and preferences of residents
