General summary:
This is a top-level administrative nurse position accountable for coordinating and managing the establishment of major plans, task assignments, and allocation of staffing to support and ensure conformance with specified objectives and policies. Directs the total nursing program for a large hospital or institution, typically as a Director of Nursing or Chief Nursing Officer, or may direct nursing services for a state agency or division, or direct a statewide public health nursing program. Develops vision and strategic direction; designs and executes plans of action for patient care processes, organizational culture, and nursing operations.
Responsibilities - What you'll do
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Working with hospital and nursing leadership to secure accreditation from TJC and certification from CMS/DHSS
• Performance Improvement methodologies (preference will be given to those familiar with CQI Plus and Lean)
• The development and management of nursing schedules, acuity systems, and nursing budgets (including overtime and PRN/agency nurses)
• Effective strategies for the recruitment and retention of professional nurses and para-professional nursing technicians
• Evidence Based Practice in the treatment and rehabilitation of clinical populations with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) as well as Intellectual Disabilities
The ideal candidate will possess personal and professional commitment to the treatment of individuals with an SPMI, including values consistent with Trauma Informed Care, Recovery Based Practice, Advocacy and Stigma-Reduction, Client Choice and Empowerment.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Requirements:
• Candidates must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Missouri.
• Three (3) or more years of high level nursing management experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A Master's Degree or doctoral preparation in psychiatric and mental health nursing is preferred.
Candidates with a BSN who are in the process of or willing to promptly pursue a graduate degree in a psychiatric/mental health specialty may be considered
