Full Job Description
Responsible for development, support, training, and expertise in clinical areas for assigned market. In conjunction with other regional management, develop core standardized clinical policies and procedures to achieve the Company's mission, vision, and goals. Provide support to facilities to implement established standards of care. Provides editing input to improve monitoring practice and implementations. The CNE acts as a resource that is able to segue between the clinical and operational domains, translating clinical performance demands into operating strategies and tactics.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitates the ongoing practice of the system mission, vision, and values for nursing across the market hospitals.
  • Collaborates with Regional Leadership to adapt the National Quality Program and steadily advance the journey toward towards a Highly Reliable Organization (HRO).
  • Leads the continual development, alignment, and communication of market wide nursing strategy across the market hospitals to assure they meet regulatory requirements and provide quality care.
  • Monitors operational goals and targets related to staffing, drives performance, and provides input and guidance as needed or requested.
  • Leads the development and implementation of quality and safety goals for nursing across the market. Monitors individual hospital as well as market wide performance to targets.   • Provides centralized management of key areas to ensure availability of resources to all hospitals throughout the market.
  • Develops the annual education and competency plan for nursing in conjunction with individual hospital nurse leader.
  • Participates in budget planning of allocations related to benchmarks that affect staffing, compensation, and workflow.
  • Drives leadership development and capacity across the market, promoting succession planning, education, and professional development that builds leadership capacity throughout.
  • Ensures the market sites have a well-organized nursing service with a plan of administrative authority and delineation of responsibilities for patient care to include a director of the nursing service who is responsible for the operation of the service.
  • Serves as a coach and mentor for the market hospitals' CCO's and Directors of Nursing and Clinical Services (DNCS), assisting as needed any hospital's leaders who are struggling with issues affecting their outcomes.
  • Develops core, standardized programs, and systems to assist facilities to meet regulatory requirements and provide quality care.
  • Performs clinical analysis of quality outcomes and compliance to regulatory requirements through on-site visits and report reviews.
  • Reviews and analyzes research data regarding clinical processes to make recommendations for appropriate, cost-effective process improvement.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

  • Works independently with minimum supervision.
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Excellent understanding of the electronic medical records.
  • Approximate percent of time required to travel, 10%.
  • Must read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Must have good and regular attendance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Master of Health
  • Administration (MHA), Master of Business Administration, or Master of Public Health required.


Licenses/Certification

  • Registered Nurse in the state.


Experience

  • Five years' experience in clinical management and leadership positions with a progressive history of increasing responsibility and accomplishment.
  • Experience with multi-facility responsibilities.
  • Prefer experience as a seasoned Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) or Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
