Job Summary

Directs and oversees materials management related functions within the organization.

Job Duties
  • Oversee sourcing and purchasing, shipping and receiving, handling, inventory control, warehousing and transportation of goods or supplies
  • Develop a strategy for ensuring that the organization has sufficient quantities of supplies to meet anticipated needs
  • Maintain accurate and timely shipping/receiving records and inventory counts
  • Assess departmental performance, identify weaknesses or risk and suggest operational changes to ensure the efficient supply and movement of goods
  • Manage relationships with and oversee activities of suppliers or fulfillment partners
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education
  • Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management and termination
  • Contribute to strategic planning, direction and goal setting for the department or function in collaboration with senior management
  • Establish departmental policies, practices and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization
  • Typically require a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience, including some prior management experience
