Responsibilities- Be responsible for overseeing the divisional advertising budget and planning.
- Collaborate with the Division Sales Managers to create successful marketing promotions.
- Be responsible for all stages of the weekly ad planning and all special marketing campaigns.
- Manage and work closely with outside advertising agencies.
- Solicit research, benchmarks, external and internal performance as necessary.
- Chair sales planning meetings and weekly ad meetings.
- Work with the VP of Merchandising & Marketing on execution of the weekly/quarterly ad and promotional planning meetings.
- Be responsible for outside sponsorship opportunities and works closely with Public Affairs.
- Provide input to Corporate on their merchandising strategies.
- Work with key vendors on divisional marketing promotions.
- Drive market branding campaigns/programs (consistent with Corporate) as well as providing support to all retail stores.
- Oversee division/market research and works with corporate Consumer Insight group.
- Review comments on current division performance from Divisional VPs of Marketing and Retail to assist and respond appropriately.
- Work with all stores on overall implementation of branding, signage, and competitive activities. Tour stores to assess overall implementation effectiveness.
- Monitor competitor's advertising, promotions, marketing initiatives and develop strategies to keep division competitive.
- Collaborate with the corporate team on maximizing our loyalty platform.
Qualifications- Experience leading marketing initiatives in a retail environment.
- A strong understanding of market research, customer insights, and how to translate data into action.
- A proven track record of developing, coaching, and inspiring high-performing teams.
- A customer-first mindset with a strong sales and merchandising orientation.
- The ability to navigate challenges, resolve conflicts, and build consensus across diverse teams.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A strategic mindset combined with a passion for execution and delivering measurable business results.
Education Level: Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing or related field
Experience Level:
- 5-10+ years of retail/category/marketing experience
- 10+ total years of experience in grocery industry
- 5 years of experience managing people
Travel Requirements: Up to 20%
Physical Environment- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
- Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
