Director of Maintenance and Process Engineer. Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company. Hickory, NC. May telecommute (work from home) from within commuting distance of Hickory, NC and report to Hickory, NC company location. Formulate and execute comprehensive strategies for process engineering and quality assurance, aligned with the automotive industry's dynamic standards and the company's growth goals. Lead interdisciplinary teams to boost production efficiency and product quality. Employ advanced process engineering techniques to refine and optimize manufacturing processes, reduce production costs, and elevate product quality. Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to achieve operational excellence. Develop a robust quality assurance framework that sets and enforces quality standards, implements effective quality control procedures, and ensures compliance with automotive industry regulations and client requirements. Engage closely with R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and other departments to integrate quality and process enhancements throughout the company. Act as the primary point of contact with clients, suppliers, and external stakeholders regarding process engineering and product quality issues. Keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in automotive manufacturing and quality assurance. Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance production efficiency and product quality. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process efficiency and product quality. Conduct thorough analysis and reporting of performance metrics to senior management, initiating improvements as needed. Direct, mentor, and grow a team of process engineers and quality assurance specialists, cultivating an environment of continuous improvement, innovation, and peak performance. Work M-F 8:00am-5:00pm. Supervise 10 employees (Process Engineers, Systems Engineers, CAD Designers, Industrial Engineer, CNC/Maintenance Control Techs and similar).
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field or foreign equivalent and five (5) years of experience in process engineering and quality assurance within the automotive manufacturing sector to include five (5) years: implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies in the automotive context; utilizing analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; managing multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks, and adhering to strict deadlines; utilizing knowledge of automotive industry regulations and quality standards.
