DescriptionRole Description: The Maintenance Director is the functional leader and responsible for the oversight of maintenance across the WASS program. Development of maintenance solutions. Responsible for maintenance policy and procedure development and publication. Collaborate with Program functional leaders to develop operationally sound executable missions, for implementation by the site managers. Supervise the maintenance activities resident in the AAR WASS Global Mission Center GMC. Works with the DoS Air Wing Maintenance branch to ensure WASS Maintenance activities comply with applicable U.S. Federal, State and Local regulations, as well as Host Nation regulations.
Key R esponsibility: - Overseas maintenance training policy and ensures currency and qualifications of all mechanics.
- Ensures all required Maintenance reports are submitted accurately and timely to applicable AAR WASS Program Management offices.
- Manage cost, schedule and performance parameters pertinent to Maintenance and ensure all maintenance contractual requirements are met.
- Develop specialized Maintenance budgets to include staffing and operational needs.
- Monitor Maintenance budget, oversee financial well being of Maintenance by exercising cost controls.
- Report Maintenance information to the AAR WASS Program Manager, and all relevant levels of the AAR WASS staff.
- Work as part of an Integrated Process Team IPT with AAR matrix staff members who provide proper finance, contracting, human resourcing, compliance, and legal review on emerging and ongoing programs.
- Supervise and coordinate with the Maintenance team ensuring that all facets of Maintenance management are applied to developing and ongoing efforts and are in compliance with all contractual requirements.
- Ensure Maintenance team is efficient and effective in all aspects of Maintenance development and execution.
- Properly manage direct charge customer Maintenance requirements with appropriate manpower and resources.
- Participate in the development of new business and capture support.
- Continuous improvement of procedures and processes meet changing mission parameters and requirements.
- Design, development, integration, testing, sustainment and documentation for aircraft systems and subsystems.
- Organize, direct, and coordinate planning and implementation of all contract support activities.
- Interface with government and contractor personnel.
- Formulate and review project feasibility studies, determine costs, ensure conformance to work standards
- Interpret organizational policies, purposes, and goals for subordinates.
- Manage maintenance support for complex aviation activities.
- Identify, acquire and utilize required resources to achieve project objectives.
- Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
- Approximately 15 percent travel to WASS CONUS and OCONUS program sites.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, Logistics or related scientific or technical discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years progressive experience in acquisition and sustainment of aircraft and aircraft systems.
- Strong English speaking and written communication skill.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating a diverse team.
- Experience with budget management and cost control measures.
- Must possess experience in both the FAA and DoD Maintenance management and support.
- Minimum education can be waived provided the years of commensurate experience with all requirements are met or exceeded.
Preferred - Masters Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, Logistics or related scientific or technical discipline.
