Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities: - Responsible for administrative services (i.e., development of budgets and effective use of financial resources, marketing of services to the community, strategic planning, cooperative relations with other GRH services)
- Responsible for clinical services (i.e., management of employees and clinical resources, standards of practice, evaluation of care and services)
- Leads, mentors, and supports the service lines' staff members and works to provide professional development opportunities for them
- Serves as the leader and liaison with Medical Directors, service line physicians, and physician activities
- Develops, examines, measures, and continuously improves operational processes, procedures, and systems
- Guides the development of staff's professional and leadership skills, serves as a role model of expectations for excellence, constructively coaches and counsel's staff
- Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting service line areas, remains current on law/regulation changes, recognizes implications to the organization, and recommends a course of action to ensure compliance
- Displays creativity and innovation when making recommendations for improvement in the delivery of laboratory services
- Demonstrates the ability to be fair and impartial while maintaining a professional relationship
- Participate in professional organizations and community related projects for personal and professional development representing GRH in a positive manner
- Maintains awareness of, and involvement in, professional and licensing organizations, educational programs, and accrediting organizations
- Responsible for maintaining current professional expertise, promotes personal and professional growth among co-workers
- Balances team and individual responsibilities; remains open and objective to other's views; gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to positive team goals, puts the success of the team above own interests
- Monitor inventory so staff have the required supplies and equipment needed to perform the tasks needed
- Manage Laboratory Services staff to achieve operational and service objectives (i.e., training, orientation, coaching, employee evaluations, disciplinary measures, interviewing, hiring, and termination process)
- Ensures quality control by performing quality checks on equipment and sees that maintenance is received as needed
- Ensure that proper patient care is delivered effectively and efficiently to meet patient experience expectations
Skills, Education and Experience:- Certified MT required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the laboratory field.
- Previous experience in a laboratory leadership and/or management role is desirable.
