We're looking for a hands-on, strategic IT leader to be our Director of IT Infrastructure & Security. This is a foundational role responsible for designing, building, and securing the technology backbone of our business. You'll lead the build-out of Ryze's internal IT systems, modernize infrastructure, create security protocols, and oversee Help Desk support while preparing the organization for its next growth phase.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESBuild the IT Function From the Ground Up- Design and implement the company's IT infrastructure roadmap, prioritizing scalability and cloud-first solutions.
- Evaluate current systems, identify gaps, and develop future-state architecture including networking, SaaS management, endpoint security, and device provisioning.
- Lead sourcing, implementation, and administration of tools supporting business operations, collaboration, and data security.
Security & Compliance Ownership- Establish and maintain information security policies, practices, and governance frameworks.
- Monitor and mitigate security risks, overseeing vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response protocols.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and standards, including SOC2, GDPR, CCPA, as the company scales.
Operational Support & Vendor Management- Oversee and scale a lean IT team, beginning with Help Desk contractors.
- Create efficient IT support processes for onboarding/off boarding, access control, device management, and troubleshooting.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate technology partners.
Collaboration & Strategic Leadership- Partner with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Marketing, and People to align IT initiatives with business needs.
- Contribute to business continuity planning and disaster recovery strategies.
- Serve as the go-to leader for internal IT initiatives, bridging tactical execution with strategic foresight.
WHAT WE OFFERWhat We're Looking For- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure and/or security, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience building or scaling internal IT functions in a high-growth or startup environment.
- Experience with help desk operations, vendor management, and IT integration in distributed teams.
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, endpoint management, cloud/SaaS ecosystems (e.g., Google Workspace, Okta, Intune/JAMF) and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Hands-on mindset with the ability to execute day-to-day while driving strategic vision.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Experience in eCommerce, consumer products, or distributed workforce environments.
- Familiarity with AI tools and automation workflows is a plus.
- Previous SOC2 readiness or audit experience preferred.
