Overview

The Director of IT Applications is responsible for the overall day-to-day maintenance & support of the assigned applications & third-party applications. Responsible for analyzing, configuring, testing, deploying, supporting and upgrading assigned applications & third-party applications. Responsible for providing 24x7 support for all assigned applications & third-party applications. Responsible for the hiring, managing, coaching, evaluating and development of analyst for each application. Works closely with business owners to ensure that work efforts support their goals and the strategic goals of ARH.

Special InstructionsThe Director of IT Applications, Interoperability provides strategic and operational leadership for healthcare technology solutions that enable data exchange, care coordination, quality improvement, and value-based care initiatives. This role oversees interoperability platforms, clinical data integration, population health technologies, and related healthcare IT systems. The Director partners with clinical, operational, and executive leaders to advance data-driven care delivery and improve patient outcomes across the organization. Responsibilities Leadership & Management

• Directs, manages, and evaluates the work of professional and other IT staff, including team members with clinical and non-clinical backgrounds and those with technical and non-technical skill sets.

• Manages application staff and contractors.

• Provides leadership, development planning, motivation, and mentoring of IT staff.

• Reviews performance of staff on an annual basis.

Application Support & Operations

• Is directly responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and support of assigned applications, including third-party applications, ensuring appropriate levels of uptime are maintained on all critical systems.

• Acts as the escalation point of contact and is directly responsible for providing 24x7 support and assuring high availability of telephony and network communications, and other computing resources on which the organization relies.

• Acts as a primary escalation point for critical IT issues.

• Appropriately escalates issues in a timely manner.

Project Management & Coordination

• Partners with project management to allocate the appropriate application resources for projects.

• Ensures communication with project stakeholders is appropriate and timely.

• Works with project managers to track costs associated with projects and ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Strategic Planning & Risk Management

• Keeps current on new developments in information systems that align with healthcare market evolution and organizational strategy to plan for future upgrades and organizational changes.

• Identifies, prioritizes, and addresses risks in order to provide a safe electronic medical record environment.

Compliance & Security

• Maintains confidentiality, integrity, and availability of ARH information.

• Complies with applicable internal and external policies, standards, laws, and regulations related to ARH information.

Business Continuity & Vendor Management

• Directs and coordinates business continuity and service restoration plans related to application systems.

• Manages strong partnerships with vendors.

Additional Responsibilities

• Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Qualifications Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Healthcare, or another related field.

Experience

• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in software support, configuration, and support or related experience.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to supervise, direct, and monitor daily work activities of staff.

• Ability to evaluate, train, and motivate staff.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex, cross-functional projects and team members.

• Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to read and interpret contracts to properly manage applications, including license and maintenance agreements.
