Overview

 

The Director of Product Management for Bible Gateway sits at the intersection of business, technology, and design to define and deliver customer-first, digitally-enabled experiences for Bible study and engagement for the largest Christian website in the world. This role is responsible for defining and guiding big-picture product vision, defining feature rollout within a thoughtful product roadmap, and providing actionable guidance to developers and marketers as a cross-functional leader.

 

Bible Gateway is on an aggressive growth path, with outcomes accountable to the highest levels of the company. If you want to own a high-visibility product with millions of monthly users, this is the role for you. This role operates strategically in developing the vision and direction for Bible Gateway as a whole, as well as for Bible Gateway Plus, a subscription-based digital Bible study tool. Knowledge of the Bible is not a requirement, but must have deep experience in B2C digital products.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with cross-functional areas (UX, IT, Operations, Analytics, Finance, Marketing) to identify and deliver growth and value through a customer-first, digitally enabled ecosystem.
  • Developing compelling digital product visions and strategies grounded in customer needs, business goals, data, and insights.
  • Translating product vision into outcome-focused roadmaps that communicate clear direction and digital product priorities across the organization based on the value that will be delivered.
  • Aligning internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, on product vision and roadmap.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with marketing leadership to translate product vision and roadmap into a compelling go-to-market plan that meets business growth targets.
  • Conducting data analysis to identify business opportunities and providing actionable insights.
  • Performing constant A/B testing on website content, layout, messaging, and user interface to improve overall web performance.
  • Managing multiple stakeholder expectations while delivering on the product vision, ensuring decisions that impact the product are grounded in material business and customer benefits.
  • Establishing product goals, metrics, and analytics to measure growth-focused product value outcomes.
  • Analyzing consumer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from a build/buy perspective; assessing current competitor offerings, identifying opportunities for differentiation.
  • Partnering with finance and other teams as needed to develop business cases and benefits to support investment in product features and functionality.
  • Delivering the product’s value through a highly collaborative, cross-functional team comprised of business, technology, and design disciplines working in an agile framework.
  • Engaging relevant stakeholders to create deployment plans and internal communications; ensuring product capabilities are positioned for successful adoption across functions and brands.
  • Providing end-to-end subject matter expertise for the digital product internally and as the primary point for any needs related to the product area.
  • Translating and documenting requirements in the format of product epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Using AI sensibly to accelerate velocity where it counts, while retaining human judgment and oversight.
Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • 8+ years of consumer-facing software product management, software product marketing, development and/or UX design experience, with 4+ years of consumer-facing software product Experience developing AI-integrated products is strongly preferred.
  • Experience delivering substantial, sustained product growth over time.
  • Experience with subscription model consumer businesses a plus.

 Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, UX design, or related field (or equivalent)

 

Skills:

  • Excellent relationship builder, with the ability to lead and influence across functions.
  • Strong presentation skills to sell your vision and align stakeholders.
  • Understanding of core UX and funnel marketing principles.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, data-driven, and has experience with A/B and multivariate testing.
  • Skilled at understanding and empathizing with consumer needs, while balancing with business goals.
  • Strong business judgment and eye for prioritizing competing priorities.

 

The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $170,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.  As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates.  The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
