Human Resources Director - Harrah's & Tropicana Laughlin

SUMMARY

Directs the strategic and operational management of the Human Resources Department. Provides leadership and oversight for employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training and development, and other HR functions. Partners with property and corporate leadership to implement strategic Human Resources initiatives that support business objectives, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and promote a positive team member experience. Serves as a key business partner to senior management while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Executes operational excellence by ensuring the consistent delivery of Human Resources services that exceed the needs and expectations of team members and property leadership.
  • Leads all Human Resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Develops and executes recruitment strategies designed to attract top talent and position Harrah's & Tropicana Laughlin as the employer of choice within the marketplace.
  • Monitors staffing levels and vacancy trends to minimize open positions and support operational efficiency.
  • Designs, implements, and evaluates retention and engagement programs to reduce turnover and enhance team member satisfaction.
  • Oversees training and development initiatives that support individual growth, leadership development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partners with property leadership to develop strategies that improve team performance, strengthen workplace culture, and drive business results.
  • Provides consultation and guidance to management regarding employee relations matters, performance management, coaching, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Leads organizational development and change management initiatives that support property goals and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Identifies team member morale concerns and collaborates with operations leaders to develop proactive solutions that enhance workplace engagement.
  • Analyzes workforce trends and HR metrics to identify opportunities and recommend strategic solutions.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Protects company assets through effective risk management, policy administration, and employment law compliance.
  • Champions Caesars Entertainment's Family Style Service culture throughout all Human Resources programs and interactions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field required; equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible Human Resources leadership experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the following functional areas:
    • Talent Acquisition and Employment
    • Employee and Labor Relations
    • Compensation Administration
    • Benefits Administration
    • Training and Development
    • Organizational Development
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships with leadership and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain any required gaming and regulatory licenses.


PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
  • Lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Push and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and move throughout the property.
  • Sit for extended periods while utilizing a computer and other office equipment.
  • Maintain dexterity sufficient to operate standard office and technology equipment.
  • Work in confined spaces as operational needs require.
  • Tolerate high-noise environments and secondhand smoke conditions.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and cold.
