Role Scope
The Director of Global Supply Chain provides senior leadership for VAL-CO's global Supply Chain strategy and execution, spanning worldwide sourcing, demand planning, inventory control, and U.S. purchasing procurement. This role exists to strengthen service, cost, and resilience while supporting growth, and it leads the Purchasing and Analyst teams.
Key responsibilities include demand management/forecasting; inventory optimization; material-control initiatives that improve flexibility and capacity; vendor selection and performance management (cost reduction and Lean support); purchased-material quality controls; and cross-functional coordination with product management, pricing, international sales, and international engineering. You will also evaluate sourcing choices using tariffs, tax structures, freight costs, and currency valuations.
Required qualifications/skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 8 years broad-based Supply Chain experience, including operations; proven people leadership and business acumen
- Proficiency with Office 365 and working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., ES, King, Kingdee, Tally)
- Strong written/oral communication and presentation capability
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
