POSITION OBJECTIVE
This key role is responsible for driving group revenue and group sales performance within the revenue organization of Salamander Hotels and Resorts. This position will serve as the brand ambassador for the portfolio in the Northeast market. The Director, Global Sales - Northeast is responsible for cultivating and managing key customer relationships in the group market, maximizing overall revenue and ensures that production goals and client expectations are met. This includes the development of tactical sales plans as well as the strategic implementation of key initiatives and processes to grow top-line revenue, and market share gains while enhancing the reputation of the portfolio.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Direct Sales:
Develop and manage a Key Customer list that addresses the current and future business needs across the portfolio.
Coordinate and manage an annual event calendar for representation of Salamander Hotels and Resorts at regional and national tradeshows, roadshows, client events and travel and related industry meetings.
Collaborate with each property Director of Sales and Marketing and their group sales teams to identify group opportunities, close business and achieve annual revenue goals.
Serve as the Salamander Hotels & Resorts liaison with key third-party partners in the Northeast including ALHI, TENEO, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Beyond Collection, HelmsBriscoe, Conference Direct and others.
Conduct quarterly Key Account reviews with the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Manage, lead and participate in any projects that may be assigned by Vice President of Sales and Marketing and/or Chief Marketing Officer.
Grow market share and account acquisition based on the business needs of the portfolio with specific emphasis on corporate, insurance and incentive market segments.
Actively pursue professional sales education and personal development opportunities.
Meet or exceed annual property revenue targets and achieve all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as established by the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Lead by example, walk-the-talk, and be a collaborative team player.
Market and Business Intelligence:
Provide market research including situation analyses, market studies, feasibility studies, competitive analyses using both primary and secondary market research to benchmark the company's position, progress and success in achieving established targets.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive competitive intelligence by developing cultivating business relationships with senior executives from other hotels, industry contacts and key customers.
Budgetary Expectations:
Provide senior leadership with remedial actions as necessary to remain within acceptable budgetary standards.
Manage cost center expenses efficiently and with integrity.
Produce business and productivity reports as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university (preferred) and a minimum of five-to-seven years of sales experience working in multi-property environment (independent, luxury experience preferred).
