Full Job Description
Role Overview:
  • Build and own end-to-end shipping, logistics, and export capability
    • Ensure compliant movement of hardware across domestic and international channels
    • Manage packaging, routing, freight forwarding, and delivery execution
    • Own export compliance across ITAR/EAR, FMS, and commercial shipments
    • Stand up scalable processes to support production and global operations


Responsibilities:
  • Logistics & Shipping Operations
    • Own all outbound and inbound shipping execution
    • Manage routing, carrier selection, and freight forwarding (domestic + international)
    • Coordinate shipments across Manufacturing and Supply Chain, and Programs
    • Ensure on-time, damage-free delivery of hardware
  • Export Compliance & Trade Execution
    • Ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, and applicable export regulations
    • Manage export classifications (ECCN/USML) and shipment documentation
    • Execute international shipments including FMS and USG requirements
    • Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders
    • Maintain records, filings, and audit readiness
  • Process Build & Scale
    • Stand up shipping workflows, systems, and infrastructure
    • Implement standardized documentation, labeling, and packaging processes
    • Define roles, responsibilities, and operating procedures for shipping team
    • Scale logistics capability to support increasing production rate
  • Risk Management & Issue Resolution
    • Identify and mitigate shipping, customs, and compliance risks
    • Resolve shipment delays, holds, and regulatory issues
    • Act as escalation point for critical logistics failures
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Partner with Manufacturing on packaging and release readiness
    • Interface with Supply Chain on inbound/outbound material flow
    • Support Program teams on delivery commitments and constraints
    • Provide visibility into shipment status and risks


Minimum Requirements:
  • 10+ years in logistics, shipping, or global trade operations
  • Experience with international shipping and freight forwarding
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and export compliance requirements
  • Experience managing customs documentation and brokers
  • Experience building or scaling logistics operations


Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with defense, aerospace, or regulated hardware shipments
  • Familiarity with FMS and USG shipment requirements
  • Experience implementing logistics systems (ERP/WMS/TMS integration)
  • Licensed Export Compliance Officer or similar certification
  • Experience managing 3PLs or freight forwarders at scale

Salary Range: $150,000 - $220,000

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base compensation range and excludes additional earnings such as bonus, equity, and benefits.
