Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of KAM's Leadership Team and trusted financial partner to the President and Board of Directors.
  • Lead KAM's Finance and Accounting function, including financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, internal controls, and financial analysis.
  • Provide meaningful financial insight into profitability, margins, costs, cash flow, working capital, and capital investments.
  • Partner with leaders across the organization on strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, capital investments, contracts, and business opportunities.
  • Lead the financial responsibilities associated with KAM's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and work closely with trustees and other advisors.
  • Provide financial oversight and support for KAMEX, KAM's joint venture in Mexico, as well as other related business interests.
  • Manage relationships with banks, external CPAs, and other financial and professional advisors.
  • Lead, develop, and support the Finance team while strengthening processes and cross-training.

Full Job Description
Director of Finance to join our Leadership Team and serve as the senior financial leader of our employee-owned manufacturing company.

This is an opportunity for a finance leader who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on. Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Finance will play an important role in shaping business decisions, strengthening financial performance, developing the Finance team, and supporting the long-term success of KAM and our employee-owners.

What You'll Do

As Director of Finance, you will:
  • Serve as a member of KAM's Leadership Team and trusted financial partner to the President and Board of Directors.
  • Lead KAM's Finance and Accounting function, including financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, internal controls, and financial analysis.
  • Provide meaningful financial insight into profitability, margins, costs, cash flow, working capital, and capital investments.
  • Partner with leaders across the organization on strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, capital investments, contracts, and business opportunities.
  • Lead the financial responsibilities associated with KAM's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and work closely with trustees, valuation professionals, administrators, and other advisors.
  • Provide financial oversight and support for KAMEX, KAM's joint venture in Mexico, as well as KAM's other related business interests.
  • Manage relationships with banks, external CPAs, and other financial and professional advisors.
  • Lead, develop, and support the Finance team while strengthening processes, cross-training, and continuity of critical financial knowledge.
  • Provide organizational oversight of KAM's Information Technology function through the IT Manager.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting, processes, controls, and the effective use of technology throughout the organization.


What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with significant financial leadership responsibility.
  • High degree of integrity, judgment, discretion, and accountability.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and cost accounting.
  • Experience leading and developing accounting and/or finance professionals.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to turn financial information into practical recommendations.
  • Ability to operate effectively at both the strategic and detailed levels.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.


Preferred Experience

Experience in an ESOP or employee-owned company, manufacturing environment, joint venture or international operation is highly valued. CPA, CMA, and/or MBA credentials are preferred but not required.
