Position Summary: The Director of Finance provides a critical service component for the Finance Department as to the oversight of the finance, accounting and reporting activities of Familylinks. In addition, the Director of Finance will work collaboratively with the Chief Financial Officer, senior leadership, and the Human Resource/Information Technology Departments to support collaboration of the Finance, HR and IT functions.

Job specific assignments

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements including Uniform Guidance, as well as serves as the accounting liaison with IT for all the financial software systems.
  • Provides direct staff supervision of Accounting Manager and Payroll Specialist with functional responsibility of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable (excluding insurance billings), payroll and grants/contract administration.
  • Oversee the management of the month-end and year-end financial closing processes focusing on timeliness, accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Review the financial reporting packages and present financial results to the Chief Financial Officer and appropriate departmental leaders, which include analysis at various levels (i.e. cost centers, high-level financials, etc.) and fiscal recommendations.
  • Report on organizational cash flow and cash forecast by working with directors to assess program operations.
  • Review, develop and implement finance department policies and/or procedures, including internal control procedures.
  • Develop budgets and assist with financial narratives for grant applications to secure new and ongoing funding for Familylinks with the support of program directors and Director of Development.
  • Manage the completion of the annual audit and tax reporting requirements and coordinate all annual audit/tax schedules in collaboration with the independent accounting firms.
  • Work closely with directors to educate the appropriate program staff regarding financial and accounting procedures and collaborate with the same individuals to determine how the finance function can continue to support the program operations.
  • Facilitate the annual budgeting and forecasting process.

General Assignments

  • Record time and attendance via HRIS and Timekeeping system.
  • Attend meetings/training as requested/required.
  • Model the organization's mission and values.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to laws, regulations, and internal control policies and procedures, including those related to maintaining client confidentiality such as HIPPA.

Education & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with MS Office, computer/laptop, tablet, and cell phone required.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and billing systems required.
  • High school diploma/GED and two or more years of relevant experience in medical or health care setting
  • Familiarity with insurance and CPT codes required.
  • Valid driver's license


Required Training

All required training will be provided upon hire. Training will be provided by Familylinks, and/or another approved provider.
