Director of Finance & Controller

Saginaw, MI/Hybrid • Full-Time

About the Role

Great Lakes Restoration Group (Servpro Team Miller) is seeking a highly analytical, operationally minded finance leader to oversee the company's accounting, financial planning and analysis, and performance reporting function. This role is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy while delivering the visibility, forecasting, and operational insights necessary to support a rapidly growing, multi-location restoration business. The Director of Finance & Controller will lead all accounting and FP&A activities partnering closely with the CEO and executive team to improve decision making, strengthen financial discipline, and build scalable processes capable of supporting organic growth and acquisitions. This role is designed for a hands-on leader who combines strong accounting fundamentals with business acumen and has the potential to grow into a future Chief Financial Officer position.

Responsibilities
• Own all accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, payroll support, general ledger maintenance, and month end close
• Prepare and distribute accurate consolidated financial statements and monthly MUO level P&L statements
• Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts for the business
• Develop financial models, dashboards, and KPIs that provide visibility into company and branch performance
• Create and manage marketing financial reporting, including customer acquisition costs and return on investment
• Own weekly cash forecasting and working capital management
• Partner with operational leaders to identify risks, opportunities, and actions to improve profitability
• Lead, coach, and develop the finance and accounting team while establishing clear accountability
• Support financial due diligence, valuation analysis, and integration efforts related to acquisitions
• Serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, lenders, and ownership groups

Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields; CPA or MBA designation preferred
• Seven to ten years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
• Experience leading accounting teams in multi-location businesses
• Strong background in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
• Must have experience in building executive level financial reporting packages and exposure to private equity backed organizations
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling. Familiarity with QuickBooks Enterprise or comparable ERP systems.
• Ability to travel locally and out of state as necessary
• Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law
