Full Job Description
SUMMARY:

The Director of Finance is a hands-on finance leader and strategic business partner responsible for driving insight-based decision support across the organization. This role partners closely with Sales, Operations, and Executive leadership to support profitable growth through rigorous financial analysis, forecasting, and performance management. Operating in a fast-paced, private-equity-backed consumer food environment, the Director of Finance will both execute and lead owning core FP&A processes while providing forward-looking insights that influence key business decisions. This role manages one to two direct reports and is expected to scale tools, processes, and capabilities as the business grows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to Sales, Operations, and Executive leadership, providing clear, actionable insights to support pricing, margin, mix, capacity, and investment decisions.
  • Drive operating margin improvement by identifying growth and cost opportunities, evaluating trade-offs, and supporting execution with data-driven analysis.
  • Lead long-range planning, annual budgeting, and rolling forecast processes, ensuring alignment with business strategy and PE value-creation objectives.
  • Own variance analysis and performance tracking, clearly explaining drivers of results versus plan and forecast.
  • Develop and maintain management reporting, dashboards, and KPI frameworks that translate financial and operational data into meaningful insights.
  • Prepare and present financial results and recommendations to cross-functional leaders at varying levels of the organization.
  • Continuously improve budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and incentive plan processes to increase speed, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Establish planning calendars, coordinate inputs across functions, and ensure accountability to timelines and deliverables.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small finance team (1-2 direct reports) with a focus on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a "player-coach," remaining actively involved in analysis and execution while building team capability.
  • Maintain strong command of the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and working capital, helping leaders understand financial implications of operational decisions.
  • Partner cross-functionally to interpret results and support informed, timely decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience; CPG and/or manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A in a growth-oriented environment
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to interpret trends across financial statements
  • Experience presenting financial insights to senior leaders and influencing decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to improve and scale finance processes in a dynamic, resource-lean environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional partnership skills
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, private-equity-backed setting
