WHAT YOU'LL DO:- Model and lead a culture of empathy, customer service, and leadership
- Lead the research, design, installation, and repair of all television, digital, OTT, Internet Systems, high-power RF systems, production environments, and all associated equipment using current platforms and protocols
- Manage building facilities and grounds, including HVAC, power generation, and security systems
- Partner with the news department to develop, build, and support content workflow and support systems, including integration and problem-solving software, hardware, networking, and infrastructure, while facilitating a collaborative environment between the newsroom and production control staff
- Motivate and manage a staff of professional and technical engineers, operators, and IT technicians
- Develop and grow staff in technology and Scripps culture to meet the ongoing and future technological needs of the station, and evaluate staff growth opportunities and assessments
- Establish and implement engineering policies and procedures
- Evaluate and maintain the spectrum and broadband usage of the facility
- Manage projects
- Plan, design, and document current and future broadcast and digital systems
- Collaborate with other departments to determine current and future studio, transmission, and workflow needs
- Prepare and track capital, expense, repair, and maintenance budgets
- Use the company purchasing management system to purchase and track assets and services, as well as replacement cycles
- Evaluate equipment solutions
- Keep the station compliant with the FCC Rules and Regulations, as well as related local, state, and federal regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:- BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
- Generally, 10+ years of experience in a related field is preferred
- Prior managerial experience preferred
- Network, SBE, and/or Project Management certification preferred
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company's required insurance limits
