Director of Engineering, Foundation to lead our core platform engineering team. This team of expert architects is responsible for developing and maintaining the foundational libraries, frameworks, and architectural components that underpin many of Curinos' flagship products. Their work spans backend systems, middleware, web services, and user experience layers-enabling data-driven decision intelligence and robust product support.
This position offers a unique 50/50 blend of
hands-on enterprise architecture leadership and
engineering team management. You will shape the architectural direction for the firm's shared engineering assets while developing and mentoring a team of 6-10 engineers.
Responsibilities:- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of platform engineers and architects, including performance reviews, career development, and training plans.
- Provide strategic enterprise architecture leadership for core, reusable components and frameworks that support multiple Curinos products. Partner closely with engineering leaders across distributed computing, data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence domains to ensure scalable and cohesive solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to translate business objectives into clear, actionable requirements for platform capabilities and features
- Design and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable architectural patterns that enable product teams to accelerate development.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to enhance development, testing, deployment, and monitoring practices.
- Champion engineering best practices including Agile development, CI/CD, DevOps automation, and architectural governance.
- Ensure foundational systems embody principles of security, scalability, resilience, observability, and sustainability.
QualificationsDesired Skills & Expertise - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing high-performing technical teams.
- 5+ years of experience designing cloud-native architectures with a major cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- 15+ years of experience in full-stack software development, including hands-on expertise across the SDLC: ideation, design, development, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and support.
- Deep experience with numerous components of our technology stack:
- Infrastructure & Platforms: Linux & Windows Server, AWS, Databricks, Spark
- Databases: SQL Server, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis
- Languages & Frameworks: Python, Java, JavaScript, Angular, Tableau
- Tooling & DevOps: Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes
- Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to balance technical vision with practical execution.
