POSITION: Director of Elementary Instructional Technology and Enrichment Program
REPORTS TO: Managing Director of Academics- Elementary
POSITION TYPE: 12-month
START DATE: Immediate
COMPENSATION: $74,604 - $89,525, Home Office Grade 7
THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic Director of Elementary Instructional Technology and Enrichment Program with a robust set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. You will ensure our students experience a rigorous academic program that increases achievement and better prepares them for college success by leading a team that creates high-quality, aligned curriculum, assessments, and professional development in your content area.
THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include
Vision and Leadership
- Setting, in collaboration with the Managing Director of Elementary Academics, and maintaining equity-driven vision in Instructional Technology and actively advocating for its implementation district-wide;
- Investing stakeholders, prioritizing initiatives, developing strategies and processes, and collaborating with the Elementary Academics Team towards exemplary instruction and exemplary student achievement;
- Exemplifying YES Prep Core values and commitment to growth as a leader.
Curriculum and Resource Development
- Collaborating with content leaders to lead the implementation of elementary instructional technology tools, personalized instructional software, and learning management systems;
- Collaborating with content leaders to create content or supplemental resources for enrichment courses such as Art, Music, Physical Education, Library, and STEM;
- Maintaining a reference of instructional applications and best practices for use that can be embedded into the YES Prep Elementary program;
- Monitoring and sharing updates to standards, pedagogy, and assessment methodology involving instructional technology with your team and applicable stakeholders, including researching and proposing new programs or instructional technology solutions.
Vendor Relationships and Management
- Evaluating, recommending, and managing instructional technology and core enrichment program vendors to ensure alignment with district priorities, instructional goals, and student needs while fostering effective vendor partnerships;
- Overseeing vendor implementation, service delivery, and performance, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to maximize the effectiveness of products and services;
- Supporting contract review and renewal processes.
Assessment and Data Analysis
- Collaborating with other leaders to develop metrics and goals for instructional technology implementation and providing periodic updates and recommendations based on progress;
- Collaborating with the Assessment Team to create content to train teachers or leaders on how to use assessment technology and Core enrichment assessments, as needed.
Support and Develop Fellow Educators and Leaders
- Managing the Elementary Assessments and Academics Coordinator role to support and monitor the implementation of elementary instructional technology and assessment resources, tools, and platforms;
- Managing and supporting core enrichment content specialists, course writers, and/or course facilitators to ensure high-quality curriculum, professional development, and assessment resources for this program that align to vision;
- Creating opportunities for collaboration with other Home Office teams, such as Special Populations, College Initiatives, Teaching Excellence, Instructional Leadership, Schools, and Analytics, as well as campus leadership to ensure resource, instruction, and teacher support is aligned;
- Collaborating with campus leaders and Mission Support in rollout or support plans for 1:1 implementation;
- Consistently and frequently observing instruction and student output in classrooms that are using instructional technology to better inform curricular or coaching practice as well as to spotlight best practices district-wide;
- Designing and/or facilitating regularly, professional development sessions for teachers and/or instructional leaders aligned to Elementary Academic team priorities, teacher needs, student data, and/or instructional technology priorities, most significantly, our 1:1 blended learning initiative;

THE MUST HAVES
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- A minimum of 3 years of exemplary teaching experience
- 5 years of academic or instructional leadership experience with an emphasis on instructional technology
- 2 or more years of people management experience
- Expertise in current curricular and assessment strategies specific to instructional technology
- Skills and experience in managing a team and facilitating professional development
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools

THE NICE TO HAVES
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, or related field
- 6-8 years of K-12 educational experience
- Experience overseeing curriculum development and assessment integration across multiple content areas
- Expertise in instructional technology ecosystems including LMSs and digital curriculum tools

- Compensation - This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance - A $0 monthly medical option or a $24 monthly option that includes $50 YES Prep Paid Health Savings Account contribution, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
