Role SummaryAs the Director of Digital Platforms & Architecture, you will be responsible for end-to-end solution design, enterprise architecture, and technical governance across Eminence's digital and core enterprise platforms. In this role, you will contribute towards long-term strategic technology planning while simultaneously ensuring a high standard of operational execution, ensuring the Eminence technology ecosystem is scalable, secure, and aligned to business strategy-while improving processes, preventing technical debt, and accelerating the organization's ability to deliver change. You will report directly to the Vice President, Information Services.
Responsibilities- Own the cross-platform architecture blueprint and integration patterns spanning eCommerce (SFCC), Salesforce platform services (OMS/Loyalty/Data Cloud and future clouds), ERP (current and future), middleware/integration, data and analytics, and collaboration platforms
- Play a central role in the review and approval of proposed technology platform implementations and changes for both projects and operational changes
- Play a central role in defining Eminence's future state platforms and operating model; establishing a modern and scalable data and analytics ecosystem
- Partner with Infrastructure team to ensure stable, secure, and scalable back-end systems to enable service delivery aligned with architecture decisions.
- Work closely with Information Security & Compliance as well as business stakeholders to embed security and privacy requirements into architecture patterns, vendor solutions, and delivery practices.
- Own and continuously evolve multi-year roadmaps for digital platforms and core applications while balancing strategic change with operational reliability and technical debt reduction.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and performance coaching to platform and application teams
- Establish a rapport of trust and confidence with stakeholders from other functional areas.
- Own technical oversight of vendors' solution designs and delivery approaches
- Work collaboratively with direct reports, as well as cross-functionally to continually de/refine and enforce standards for solution design, integrations, SDLC methods, documentation, operational support, and key metrics across teams and vendors.
- Partner with IS leaders, Project Managers, and other cross-functional stakeholders/leads to ensure initiatives are set up for success
- Ensure platforms are supportable, and drive continuous improvement via automation and reliability engineering practices where appropriate.
- Establish, track, and continuously refine key performance indicators for platform health, delivery effectiveness, operational reliability, vendor performance, and team outcomes;
- Contribute to annual and multi-year budget planning for digital platforms, architecture initiatives, licensing, and external services
Qualifications- 10+ years in technology roles with progressive responsibility in enterprise applications, solution architecture, and platform delivery; including 3+ years leading technical teams or functions.
- Proven experience designing and governing complex, integrated enterprise ecosystems (eCommerce, CRM, ERP, integration/middleware, collaboration platforms).
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience in designing, implementing, and supporting modern data platforms, including data lake/warehouses, pipelines, and analytics environments.
- Experience establishing and operating governance forums (Architecture Review Board / Change Advisory Board), technical standards, and SDLC quality gates.
- Comfortable operating in a mid-sized organization
- Hands-on familiarity with one or more of: Salesforce ecosystem (SFCC and/or Salesforce platform clouds), ERP platforms (implementation or modernization), integration tools (e.g., iPaaS), and data platforms/warehousing (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Tableau).
- Strong vendor management experience
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication skills including a proven ability to communicate complex technical subjects in a clear, concise, and meaningful manner
- Solution focused, methodical, careful & diligent, while still maintaining a sense of urgency to advice workstreams.
