Full Job Description

What We Need:

Forte Prep seeks a Director of Data and Analytics. Reporting to the Chief Schools Officer, the Director of Data and Analytics will help lead the creation, organization, and incorporation of data analytics and business intelligence to assist school and senior leaders in making decisions for programs and services, based on data.

What You'll Do:
  • Coordinate with key stakeholder to improve data quality and quantify the impact of the network and programs
  • Works cooperatively with senior leaders, school leaders, leadership teams, instructional coaches, and teachers in developing and supervising the procedures for administering local and state assessments as well as local and state reporting.
  • Generate custom reports in data systems as needed.
  • Develop weekly, monthly and quarterly data reports that inform program and network leaders.
  • Analyze assessments, enrollment, attendance and demographic data to determine learning mastery and review data to determine trends.
  • Disaggregate data and create reports; and provide evaluative findings (including student achievement data) for the review of curriculum and instruction program effectiveness.
  • Provide stakeholders with valuable, accurate, and statistical data and information for the purpose of informing instructional practices and promoting high levels of student achievement.
  • Plan and provide staff development for teachers, school leaders on educational trends, school-based testing coordinators on the requirements of the state assessment program and the state and federal accountability programs.
  • Understanding of school data dashboards and assessment platforms. (i.e. Schoolrunner, Powerschool, Looker, NWEA, IA Exam systems, etc.)
  • Broad knowledge of modern research-based data driven instructional techniques and programmatic practices .
  • Ability to interpret data, problem-solving, and observational skills.
  • Carry out other operations tasks, assigned by the Chief Schools Officer as needed.

What You'll Bring:
  • A bachelor's degree is required, with relevant experience in data analytics from education, public, and/or private sectors.
  • Teaching or school network experience preferred but not required.
  • Effective skills in problem solving, strategic thinking, information systems use, communication, organization, planning, and data management.
  • Experience in using academic data to impact instruction and school systems thinking and planning.
  • Strong planning, organization, and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented, results driven, hands-on, team player with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment
  • Proficient in developing visualizations and graphic presentation of findings.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with computer devices, computer operating systems, student information systems, and databases.
  • Firm commitment to and belief in Forte Prep's mission.
  • An adept ability to work effectively in teams and as an individual.
  • Passion for working with students and closing the opportunity gap in an urban environment.

Compensation: Salary range is $80,000 to $110,000, commensurate with your experience. Forte Prep Academy employees are provided with a benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, 403 B matching, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, a smartphone, and a laptop.

Schedule: Monday to Friday - 10 hour work day; Weekend availability.

COVID-19 considerations: Vaccines required; masks optional (if vaccinated).

Location: Elmhurst, NY 11373. Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work is required.
