What You'll Do

As the Director of Critical Care, you will:
  • Provide operational, clinical, and strategic leadership for the Critical Care department.
  • Lead and develop nursing leaders and staff while fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and department productivity.
  • Monitor and improve quality indicators including infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and operational performance.
  • Lead department initiatives focused on quality improvement, employee engagement, and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, Illinois Department of Public Health, and hospital standards.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care hospital
  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience within a Critical Care or Intensive Care setting
Preferred
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification
  • Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC or NEA-BC)
  • Experience with regulatory surveys, quality improvement initiatives, and budget management
