What You'll Do Day to Day: LP Strategy Group is the Company's enterprise strategy and internal consulting division serving as a key partner to senior leaders, the executive team, and the CEO.
Identify and analyze possible mergers and acquisitions and make recommendations as to their impact on the organization's profitability. This position will also be responsible for competitive analysis, market trends, and other assessments based on business needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Lead the strategy development with in-depth analysis and research that steer the company's long-term strategic priorities.
- Assist with the development of documents to facilitate cross-functional and cross-regional team discussions.
- Conduct competitive and product research in Financial Services, Payments and Digital Shopping space to make data driven recommendations that drive business solutions.
- Analyze financial, marketing, industry data to uncover industry, company, customer trends and new products to make informed business decisions.
- Conduct research and analysis of prospective partnership targets and industries to determine trends and support deal development.
- Perform in depth financial modeling, understanding unit economics.
- Prepare industry briefs and presentations that support deal development.
- Collaborate with talented teammates to deliver significant measurable results.
- Support core strategic projects from inception to the execution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics or related field required; Master's preferred.
- 2 - 3 years of investment banking or private equity experience or strategy consulting at the analyst level;
- Strong preference for someone with FIG (banks / specialty finance) and / or FinTech exposure
- Exceptional knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and third-party data vendor platforms (i.e., S&P Global, CapIQ, etc.), including experience building operating (three-statement) models and merger / acquisition model
- Genuine interest in the FinTech landscape with a good grasp on sector trends and knowledge of key players
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Actual buy-side M&A execution experience would be a great bonus
