Position Overview The Director of Corporate Partnerships and Sponsorships secures a large volume of corporate brand sponsorships and cooperative partnerships for the Miami Film Festival (MFF) and Tower Theater Miami and also ensures fulfillment of the College's contractual obligations to sponsors and partners at a high-quality performance standard. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College's District Board of Trustees.
What you will be doing - Develops, secures and fosters cash corporate sponsorships to meet annual revenue goals set at the beginning of each fiscal season and in-kind partnerships with significant budget-saving goals, including the negotiation, drafting and execution of proposals and contracts within legal and business standards set forth by the College
- Plans and executes strategies to fulfill College's obligations to sponsors and corporate partners per contractual commitments; creates project timelines, seasonal "blueprint" and component deadlines for fulfillment of target goals
- Oversees grant application process and ensures that grant reporting requirements are met in a timely manner for all state, county, and other grants that are part of department funding. Actively seeks out new grants opportunities; collaborates with the Colleges various departments to ensure all documentation is accurate and that the College is compliant with all regulations
- Oversees the execution and fulfillment of media sponsorship contracts
- Creates and executes "thank you" wrap packages and detailed reports at the conclusion of each contractual relationship, incorporating a renewal request strategy
- Recruits and oversees a team of consultants, individual vendors and interns and volunteers involved in event and sponsor fulfillment to ensure key deliverables are conducted on schedule and high degree of quality
- Creates, secures, and fosters in-kind contributions with significant budget-saving goals, including the negotiation, drafting, and execution of proposals
- Creates and maintains a fair market value of sponsorship benefits that correlate to cash and in-kind gifts, including overseeing of standard "decks" for solicitation tools; negotiates benefits within a reasonable and fair degree of customization for individual deals
- Networks and collaborates on an ongoing basis with MDC Foundation administration and Miami Film Society members to develop upgrades in giving and streamline new program options for current College supporters from other revenue streams
- Develops strategies and executes activities for building superior brand position for Miami Film Festival (MFF) within the local arts and cultural marketplace, and the national and international art film marketplaces
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed - Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of related experience; or Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and seven (7) years of related experience
- All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge of contemporary and historical world cinema art and industry, as well as domestic art cinema market
- Knowledge of best practices in corporate, foundation and governmental gift solicitation practices
- Possess strong writing skills, including ability to write clear emails, draft contracts and write reports
- Possess excellent managerial skills with ability to make important decisions and quick problem solving skills on a regular basis
- Ability to adapt to difficult environments while conducting oneself in a professional manner
- Extensive working knowledge in event logistics
- Ability to demonstrate confidence, articulation and professional speaking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database computer applications
- Detailed knowledge of Foundation process and procedures including rules and regulations
- Possess excellent interpersonal, communication skills (oral and written), and team-working skills
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate efficient organizational and time management skills
- Ability to effectively collect, analyze, evaluate and prepare statistical data
- Ability to promote and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff
