JOB DESCRIPTION
Coordinate and support the braiding of evidence based programs, initiatives and strategies implemented through the Community School Grant, McKinney Vento Grant, and Title I Grant used to provide all children with fair, equitable, and high-quality education. Work to ensure all students meet challenging academic state standards that result in closing educational achievement gaps. Coordinate the development, implementation, and monitoring of Title I, Part A funded staffing and strategies in accordance with federal and state Title I, Part A requirements and the Maryland Accountability System. Coordinate the braiding of school-based Concentration of Poverty (COP) grant-funded strategy and program implementation in collaboration with the Office of Community Schools. Coordinate and supervise Homeless Education Programs and federal McKinney Vento requirements in accordance with established guidelines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Provides leadership and expertise in the implementation of evidence-based strategies that support students in meeting state academic standards, including social-emotional learning, supplemental reading and mathematics instruction, additional teaching staff, high-quality instructional materials, and before/after-school and summer programs that extend the regular school day.
Supports school leaders and teams in implementing Title I Schoolwide Programs, School Progress Plans (SPP), and Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) plans.
Creates and monitors systemwide initiatives that support co-planning, modeling, coaching, and collaboration.
Coordinates systemwide professional development for Title I school staff on effective family engagement strategies, supporting documentation, and metrics for monitoring strategy implementation, ensuring best practices in family engagement support school improvement efforts.
Collaborates with service and content offices within the Division of Curriculum and Instruction and the Department of Employee Training & Development to provide regional and school-based training in assessed instructional and compliance needs.
Supervises and builds the leadership capacity of specialists supporting school-based grant programs, McKinney-Vento, and Neglected and Delinquent institutions in school improvement strategies, strategic plan development, data-driven decision making, grant compliance, and the continuous cycle of improvement.
Leads the development, implementation, and monitoring of Title I and Targeted Assistance School Plans.
Reports issues and provides feedback to school teams on program and grant implementation.
Collaborates with the Office of Community Schools, Central Programs, and Family and Community Engagement to monitor grant-funded strategies aligned to approved Community School Implementation Plans.
Coordinates follow-up with Community School Facilitators when implementation barriers arise, and ensure Title I and Concentration of Poverty
