Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly strategic, innovative, and accomplished Director of Core Products to lead the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and performance of the Credit, Debit, Pre-Paid, and New Products & Solutions portfolio across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). This role is central to Visa's mission to drive consumer payments growth, accelerate product modernization, and expand access to next-generation payment solutions across the region.
The ideal candidate is a senior product leader with a strong consulting mindset, capable of structuring complex problems, developing data-driven strategies, and influencing senior stakeholders across markets. You will define the long-term vision for the portfolio, translate strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps, and ensure sustained business impact.
Product Leadership & Strategy
- Own the end-to-end product strategy for Credit, Debit, Pre-Paid, and New Products & Solutions across LAC.
- Define and drive a multi-year strategic roadmap that strengthens Visa's market position, accelerates growth, and aligns with regional and global priorities.
- Lead strategy formulation across key dimensions: value proposition, segmentation, pricing, lifecycle management, and competitive positioning.
- Integrate modernization initiatives across products, including digital credentials, account-based payments, and value-added services.
Strategy & Consulting-Led Problem Solving
- Apply structured, hypothesis-driven problem solving to diagnose business challenges, identify growth opportunities, and recommend actionable solutions.
- Partner with market teams to shape strategic decisions around portfolio positioning, client segmentation, pricing strategies, and investment priorities.
- Develop executive-level strategic materials (e.g., business cases, memos, portfolio reviews) to support senior leadership decision-making.
- Act as a strategic advisor to regional and market leadership, bringing insights on market trends, competitive dynamics, and performance optimization.
Execution & Operational Excellence
- Translate strategy into clear execution plans, ensuring disciplined delivery through product lifecycle management (PLM), go-to-market readiness, and cross-functional alignment.
- Drive strong governance across the portfolio, including prioritization frameworks, product readiness standards, and launch excellence.
- Ensure accountability through clear ownership, milestones, and performance tracking.
Portfolio & Performance Management
- Own full product P&Ls, ensuring visibility into revenue, cost drivers, margins, and long-term value creation.
- Define and track KPIs to monitor portfolio health, growth, and client adoption.
- Leverage data and analytics to continuously optimize portfolio performance and inform strategic adjustments.
Market Engagement & Growth Strategy
- Develop tailored go-to-market strategies aligned to market maturity, regulatory environments, and client needs.
- Identify, prioritize, and scale key growth levers, including new use cases, partnerships, and ecosystem opportunities.
- Lead cross-market portfolio reviews to unlock distribution opportunities, activate dormant portfolios, and accelerate adoption.
Cross-Functional & Executive Leadership
- Lead and influence cross-functional teams across Product, Technology, Client Services, Sales, Risk, Finance, Marketing, and Global Product organizations.
- Serve as the central owner of product strategy, ensuring alignment and execution against a unified vision.
- Operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment, driving clarity, accountability, and results.
Innovation & New Product Development
- Champion the design and commercialization of new product constructs for LAC, grounded in strong strategic rationale and business cases.
- Identify and assess emerging technologies, ecosystem partnerships, and new payment models to support long-term growth.
- Ensure new product initiatives are scalable, commercially viable, and aligned with Visa's strategic priorities.
- Continuous Improvement & Strategic Foresight
- Stay ahead of customer needs, regulatory changes, competitive dynamics, and technology trends.
- Continuously refine the portfolio strategy and operating model to sustain competitive advantage and accelerate growth.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including 8+ years in product management within payments or financial services.
- Consulting experience (top-tier strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or equivalent) strongly preferred, with demonstrated ability to structure complex problems and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Proven track record of defining and executing multi-year product strategies and owning full product lifecycle.
- Strong commercial acumen, including P&L ownership, pricing strategy, and business case development.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to connect market insights, client needs, and business priorities into clear, actionable plans.
- Highly analytical, with experience leveraging data to inform decisions and measure impact.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead in a global, matrixed organization.
- Excellent communication skills, including executive-level storytelling and strategic presentations.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a strong plus.
