Job Summary

The Director of Concessions is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and financial performance of all food, beverage, and concession operations within a large sports and entertainment venue. This position oversees the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of concession services during sporting events, concerts, festivals, and other live entertainment experiences. The Director of Concessions ensures exceptional guest satisfaction, maximizes revenue and profitability, maintains food safety and regulatory compliance, and leads a diverse team of managers, supervisors, and hourly staff.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with extensive experience in high-volume food and beverage operations, strong financial acumen, and a proven ability to manage large teams in a fast-paced event environment. This role partners closely with venue leadership, culinary teams, premium services, warehouse operations, and external vendors to deliver best-in-class hospitality experiences while achieving organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct all concession operations across multiple locations, stands, kiosks, portable units, and point-of-sale outlets throughout the venue.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to maximize guest satisfaction, revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop concession managers, supervisors, and frontline team members.
  • Establish staffing plans and labor strategies to support venue events and business demands.
  • Manage concession budgets, forecasting, inventory controls, food costs, labor costs, and financial reporting.
  • Analyze sales performance and operational metrics to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and revenue generation.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Collaborate with culinary, procurement, warehouse, and event operations teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Oversee product selection, menu development, merchandising strategies, and innovation initiatives to enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain strong relationships with venue partners, sponsors, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Lead employee engagement, training, succession planning, and performance management initiatives.
  • Implement and monitor security, cash-handling, inventory management, and loss-prevention programs.
  • Ensure preparedness for large-scale events, emergency situations, and operational challenges.
