Pay $83,000 - $86,000

The Director of Community Support is responsible for the successful development, implementation and oversight of a wide range of programs, supports, and ongoing inclusive community events for people supported by families in the community. The position also facilitates inclusive networking with people supported in the adult and children's residential programs.

The position supports families and individuals and enhances the quality of life for participants by offering choices of a variety of structured, fiscally viable meaningful art and recreational opportunities, management and oversight of family driven services, and building collaborations with outside agencies to form a network of support which promotes fun, skill building activities, opportunities to build friendships, as well as ensuring traditional services and fiscal resources are managed.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee Waiver Services including Self-Direction, Community Habilitation, Family Support contract services, and/or Art and Recreation programs tailored to diverse populations in accordance with regulatory requirements and agency policy and procedures.
  • Manage resources effectively to ensure as many people as possible are served.
  • Supervise and support Self-Direction, Community Hab, and/or Recreation and Art staff, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations in accordance with the agency values of Respect, Integrity, and Excellence.
  • Develop and ensure method to measure customer satisfaction; establish services in partnership with families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate therapeutic goals into programming.
  • Provide direct service with individuals supported as needed to ensure needs can be met.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure staff service documentation is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements, including Family Support contracts, SD documentation, and com hab documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations in all program activities.
  • Coordinate community outreach and engagement initiatives to promote participation; build positive collaborative relationships with community partners.
  • Manage program budgets and resources with fiscal responsibility.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback and data.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Two years experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Travel is required. Must have a valid New York State driver's license and reliable transportation.
