ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision, the Director of College Advising coordinates Student Services Center/EOP Satellite services, uses disaggregated data to identify priorities, communicates CSU policy, coordinates activities with departments, represents the college on university-wide committees, and collaborates with campus partners to resolve student issues.
- The Director hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates advising staff.
- Ensures effective use of advising technologies and degree planning tools.
- Uses data analytics, including disaggregated data, to drive priorities.
- Communicates and interprets CSU and University policy to faculty advising within the college, staff, and students.
- Collaborates with campus partners such as EOP, Undergraduate Studies, Financial Aid, Basic Needs, Student Accounting, and Enrollment Services to ensure timely resolution of student issues.

Qualifications:- Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a job-related field.
- Minimum of five years in caseload advising as a CSU Student Services Professional (SSP) or equivalent.
- Equivalent to two years of progressively responsible professional/administrative experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Leadership- Demonstrated understanding and consideration of the differing needs and concerns of individuals with varying identities, cultures, and backgrounds.
- Strong record of working with minoritized and other underserved communities, first-generation students and Pell-eligible students, with experience in advising and related programming that helps close equity gaps among diverse student populations.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct the work of subordinate staff engaged in various professional, technical, and clerical functions.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgement and discretion in effectively establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply a variety of CSU and CSUN policies and procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and state and federal labor laws.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing with clarity and proficiency.
- Lead diverse teams to support the operational mission and vision of employers by fostering an ethical, inclusive and collegial work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to support ongoing improvement through courageous, resilient, and catalytic leadership.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule- Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience. The University offers excellent fringe benefits.
- The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $110,000 - $115,764 per year, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
General Information- This position is a sensitive position as designated by the CSU.
