Responsibilities

Springwoods Behavioral Health is currently recruiting for a Director of Clinical Services.

The Director of Clinical Services provides direct supervision to all Clinical Services staff. Oversees the development and implementation of the clinical programs across the continuum of care; Assigns patient cases to Social Services staff and ensures appropriate caseloads are disbursed. Develops and revises program descriptions, patient/parent handbooks and oversees the clinical services. This position is an active member of the leadership team. As a member of the management team, the Director of Clinical Services assists in the achievement of organizational objectives regarding patient care, attainment of operational and financial goals and participates in the promotion of services within the community. The Director ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of department policies and procedures are in compliance with all corporate, JCAHO, federal, state and local regulations. The Director is expected to maintain a productive, professional relationship with the medical staff, management team and all other departments and performs other duties as assigned. This is a "working" director position that reports to the Hospital CEO.

Springwoods Behavioral Health , an 80-bed behavioral health facility located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, provides acute inpatient treatment for adolescent, adult, and specialty program for women. The hospital also offers outpatient treatment. Our six-acre campus is adjacent to a 123-acre Audubon Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary, which is held in perpetuity and cannot be developed from its natural state. This provides Springwoods with a peaceful setting for those embarked on the road to recovery.

Qualifications

Education: Required: Master's in social work with a valid Arkansas License Clinical Social Work.

Licensure: Arkansas Clinical Social Work License (LCSW) required. BLS Provider certification through the American Heart Association and Handle with Care required upon completion of orientation (2 weeks).

Experience: The Director of Clinical Services must have a minimum of one year in a leadership position in a health care setting-preferably within Psychiatric Inpatient Services. 5 years of work experience in the Mental Health/Substance Abuse field. Must have knowledge of national/state and industry standards as it relates to the care of the mentally ill/substance abuse field.

Additional Requirements: Ability to work with adolescent and adult populations as demonstrated through educational accomplishment or work experience. A working knowledge of JCAHO standards, and any other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities. Able to work overtime and flexible hours.

SKILLS: Excellent communication skills, ability to maintain effective working relationships, inter-departmentally, intra-departmentally, and with the clinical staff. Demonstrates the ability to organize, delegate and manage the Clinical Services Team. Must have ability to communicate in both oral and written form and in a clean and concise manner.

Knowledge: Preferred knowledge of case management, discharge planning, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management, family therapy theory and practice. Knowledge of theory and practice of psychosocial assessments. Able to work cooperatively with other hospital staff and involved community agencies. Good organization skills, as well as oral and written communication skills.
