Direct Supervisor

This role reports directly to the COO.

Summary

The Director of Clinical Quality is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations and quality assurance of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services within the organization. This role ensures that all clinical practices align with ethical guidelines, best practices, regulatory requirements, and the company's mission to provide effective, evidence-based interventions to individuals with autism and other developmental disorders. The Director works closely with clinicians, managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of care are being met.

Essential Functions/Job Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Improvement:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality assurance (QA) programs to ensure clinical services meet regulatory standards, industry guidelines, and client expectations.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of clinical programs, ensuring compliance with ABA principles and ethical guidelines.
  • Identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to enhance the quality of clinical services.
  • Manage a team of QA Specialist to review clinical documentation for quality and compliance.

Clinical Oversight and Supervision:
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to behavior analysts and other clinical staff.
  • Ensure that treatment plans are effective-based and individualized to meet the needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to review and adjust treatment protocols as needed to ensure client progress and outcomes.

Training and Development:
  • Design and implement training programs to ensure clinical staff are up to date on the latest ABA practices, treatment modalities, and ethical standards.
  • Support the ongoing professional development of clinical staff, including behavior analysts and behavior technicians, through mentorship and continuing education.
  • Monitor and support staff certification and licensure requirements.
  • Develop training as needed for clinicians regarding clinical best practice and insurance guidelines.

Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure that clinical documentation meets all legal, regulatory and ethical requirements.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to ABA therapy and ensure compliance with these laws.
  • Coordinate with external agencies for audits, licensing, and accreditation processes.
  • Monitor Adherence to clinical quality policies, including review of initial assessments and progress reports.
  • Attending insurance webinar and training. Stay up to date on insurance guidelines and regulations.
  • Review and update company clinical documentation as needed.

Collaboration and Communication:
  • Serve as a key liaison between clinical teams, administrative staff, and leadership to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss client progress, case reviews, and operational issues.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations related to clinical quality to execute leadership and stakeholders.

Client and Family Engagement:
  • Ensure that families and caregivers are actively involved in the treatment process through regular communication and collaboration.
  • Develop strategies to improve client outcomes by integrating family feedback into clinical practices.
  • Ensure that all clinical services are culturally competent and tailored to the unique needs of each client and family.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • Master's Degree or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
  • Additional certification or training in clinical supervision is preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in ABA, including experience providing direct services, supervision, and leadership directing a QA Team.
  • Proven experience in clinical quality management, quality assurance or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles, techniques and evidence-based practices.
