Manage workloads and performance of 3 to 5 Senior Catastrophic Resolution Specialists and a Nurse Case Manager.
Evaluate team performance, identify problems, and develop corrective action plans.
Provide guidance and training on functional claims issues to the office.
Maintain knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act and relevant regulations.
Consult with attorneys and assist in negotiations, mediations, and trials as necessary.
Keep the office informed about legal changes in assigned jurisdictions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory issues in the assigned region.
Attend training sessions and participate in claim reviews and account visits.
Identify unfavorable trends from employers and notify relevant departments.
Ensure team's work adheres to established guidelines.

Full Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing 3 to 5 Senior Catastrophic Resolution Specialists and a Nurse Case Manager. Also responsible for overseeing all catastrophic Workers’ Compensation claims throughout the department.

Actively Manages assigned Resolution Specialists workloads and performance.
Evaluates team performance, identifies and resolves problems, develops corrective action plans and defines team and individual goals.
Provide the office with the guidance and training on functional claims problems.
Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act and Rules and Regulations in jurisdictions assigned.
Consult with attorneys, assist in negotiation of settlement, mediations and trials (attend trials as necessary).
Keep office abreast of all legal changes in assigned jurisdictions.
Ensure regulatory issues within the assigned region are within compliance.
Attend and participate in training sessions to the accounts or account visits and claim reviews.
Identify unfavorable trends from employers and notify appropriate departments.
Ensure team’s work is in accordance with guidelines established

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Ten (10) years’ experience within workers compensation insurance.
Preferred three (3) years’ of claims supervisory experience
Experience managing catastrophic Workers’ Compensation claims.
Possess and maintain a professional adjusting license in jurisdictions assigned.
