Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and promote Resident choice and Resident-centered care within the Home.
  • Assist with hiring, performance management, discipline, and termination of team members when necessary, while fostering a culture of support and growth.
  • Maintain high standards of care that align with policies, ORCA standards, and Retirement Home regulations.
  • Liaise with external community partners to understand & enhance the services provided.
  • Oversee Resident care needs, ensuring care plans are developed and updated to reflect the best approach for each individual. Including managing the care programs, including services and fees.
  • Support IPAC and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the home operates at its best.
  • Review falls and incidents, recommend, and implement risk minimization strategies to maintain resident safety.
  • Actively support marketing teams by facilitating timely resident assessments.
  • Lead the Resident Care Team in developing and implementing departmental goals and objectives, revising policies and procedures.
  • Managing scheduling, staffing needs, and ensuring effective staffing patterns.
  • Collaborating effectively within an interdisciplinary team.


Qualifications
  • Registered RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing or supervising staff in a unionized environment.
  • Strong ability to manage a budget and participate in the budgeting process.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Working knowledge of risk and quality management principles.
  • Experience working with seniors and the geriatric population.
  • Clear understanding of Resident-centered care, Resident rights and RHA 2010.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, innovative, creative, flexible, and enthusiastic.
  • Proficient in computer programs such as YARDI, MedeCare, and other Windows-related programs.
