Working closely with the Senior Campaign Associate and Director of Marketing, the Director will serve as a critical bridge between campaign strategy, donor engagement, communications, data and operations. The Director will help ensure that every donor, from broad-based Community Campaign and Super Sunday supporters to major gift donors, feels valued, informed and connected to the Federation's impact across Greater Philadelphia, Israel and Jewish communities around the world. The Director will help to develop compelling philanthropic communications, implement meaningful donor recognition and stewardship initiatives, and ensure that all campaign communications are timely, strategic and aligned with fundraising priorities.

The Director will work closely with volunteers and eventually oversee a committee of volunteer leaders who will assist with donor stewardship, outreach and engagement, helping to build a stronger culture of personal connection and appreciation among this important donor community.

Position Summary:
  • Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive, organization-wide donor stewardship strategy that strengthens retention, engagement, and philanthropic growth across annual donors, major gift donors, and affinity groups.
  • Partner with the Marketing and Strategy & Impact teams to develop timely, compelling impact reports, donor communications, and customized updates for major donors, institutional partners, family foundations, and other key constituencies.
  • Create and implement a donor honor roll and oversee named gift opportunities and other recognition and stewardship initiatives that deepen donor engagement and strengthen the overall donor experience.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the Community Campaign and Super Sunday in partnership with the Senior Campaign Associate and Marketing Department, leveraging data, direct mail, email, text, and other communications channels to increase donor participation, retention, engagement, and revenue.
  • Develop and oversee personalized stewardship strategies for key donors, including handwritten note campaigns, milestone celebrations, customized briefings, site visits, and opportunities for engagement with Federation leadership.
  • Partner with campaign chairs, lay leaders, and volunteers on high-level donor stewardship, recognition, and engagement initiatives.
  • Recruit, engage, and oversee a volunteer committee that supports Community Campaign donor stewardship and outreach, creating meaningful opportunities for volunteers to build personal relationships with donors and strengthen retention and engagement.
  • Manage a portfolio of Community Campaign and major gift households, actively engaging donors and prospects through regular communication, cultivation, stewardship, and direct solicitation, with defined activity metrics and fundraising goals.
  • The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time at Jewish Federation's discretion. Employment is at-will and this job description is not an employment contract and nothing herein shall be deemed to create in any way whatsoever an employment contract.
