Job Title: Director of Business Development
Location: Minneapolis, MN | Onsite
Salary: $100,000 - $115,000
Job Summary:The Director of Business Development is a strategic sales leader responsible for driving new customer acquisition. This role focuses on identifying high-potential prospects, executing outbound sales campaigns, qualifying inbound marketing leads, and converting new opportunities into long-term partnerships. Success in this role means consistently opening new doors, securing initial meetings, and building a strong pipeline of new business.
In addition, this role is responsible to support business improvement by meeting personal and departmental goals and objectives timely and effectively.
What does a normal day look like?- Develop and execute strategic outbound prospecting plans (cold calling, email, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Qualify and nurture inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns.
- Identify and target key accounts that align with the company's service offerings.
- Build a strong pipeline of opportunities and progress them through the sales funnel.
- Deliver persuasive presentations to prospective customers and manage the sales process through close.
- Collaborate with marketing to optimize messaging and campaign effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What makes this job right for you?- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Transportation and/or Logistics
- 6+ years of business development or sales leadership experience, preferably within the trucking, transportation, or logistics industry.
- Demonstrated success driving profitable revenue growth, expanding market share, and consistently exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent leadership, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and business writing skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and with customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, customer focus, and a collaborative, hands-on approach.
Physical Requirements- Ability to travel up to 40--50% for customer visits, industry events, and trade shows.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
