Position Summary:

The Business Development Director is responsible for driving portfolio growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new property management opportunities. This role builds and maintains relationships with property owners, investors, developers, and industry partners while positioning the company as a trusted management solution. The position directly supports the company's strategic growth goals through market expansion, revenue generation, and brand development.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Growth & Revenue Generation:
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new property management opportunities across multifamily portfolios. Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through networking, cold calling, attending industry events, and leveraging existing relationships.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and property management service agreements.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns that support lead generation and brand visibility.
  • Manage budgets, targets, and performance metrics related to business development.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.

Client Relationship Management:
  • Represent the organization at conferences, trade shows, and client meetings to strengthen brand presence and industry visibility.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, investors, developers, real estate agents, and referral partners.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients, ensuring a seamless handoff to the operations team post-contract.
  • Follow up regularly with leads to maintain engagement and move prospects through the sales funnel.

Market Research & Strategy:
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform growth strategies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for expanding service offerings or entering new markets.
  • Analyze performance data to track ROI and refine outreach strategies.

Cross-Department Collaboration:
  • Work closely with operations, accounting, marketing, and transition teams to align expectations and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback to leadership on market demands, client needs, and service enhancement.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and significant relevant experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in property management, real estate sales, or business development.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of multifamily management operations, real estate markets, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Proven sales, negotiation, and closing skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ability to analyze financial information, market data, and ROI to support sound business decisions.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting tools.
  • Ability to travel overnight as needed to support client pursuits, networking events, and industry engagements.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organized.
  • Real estate license (preferred or required depending on state laws).
