Director of Admissions

Location: 7020 N. Military Hwy, Norfolk, VA 23518

Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Two late evenings per week until 7:00 PM
  • Occasional Saturdays

Compensation: Up to $110,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Director of Admissions to lead our campus admissions team and guide prospective students through a life-changing educational journey. This leadership role is ideal for a metrics-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing high-performing teams, and is passionate about helping students achieve their goals.

As Director of Admissions, you will oversee all aspects of the admissions process, from initial inquiry through enrollment, while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards. Your leadership will directly impact enrollment success, team performance, and the overall student experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the admissions team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Develop and measure metrics to drive team performance; analyze admissions data and performance metrics to improve conversion rates and optimize recruitment strategies
  • Design and implement strategic recruitment plans aligned with campus and organizational goals
  • Manage the full admissions cycle, ensuring prospective students receive a seamless and supportive experience
  • Oversee hiring, training, coaching, and evaluation of Admissions staff, including Assistant Directors and Representatives
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and maintain compliance with all policies and regulations
  • Regularly audit admissions files, to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Collaborate with Financial Aid, Career Services, Marketing, and Academic teams to support student success and enrollment growth
  • Participate in campus events, including open houses, career fairs, and orientations
  • Maintain inventory of admissions materials and support outreach initiatives
  • Prepare reports and provide updates to campus leadership

Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum of 3 years of management or leadership of an admission team in a for-profit educational setting
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on student engagement
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with LeadSquared, Anthology, or similar student information systems
